    BT to connect Dutch diplomatic missions around the globe

    Software-defined services will enable secure collaboration and foster digital transformation.

    BT announced it has signed a contract with the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs to provide communication services to its embassies and consulates in 120 countries using the software-defined networking.

    The contract is valued at Є33 million over four years, with an option to be extend it by up to five more. The contract was won in a public, EU-wide tender.

    The new network services will form the foundation of the Ministry’s digital transformation and will support secure collaboration internally and with external partners.

    Users will have access to to data and cloud services.

    BT will provide the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs with WAN, LAN and Wireless LAN services. By using software-defined networking technology, the infrastructure will enable increasing consumption of cloud services.
