OnRelay enters into agreement with BT Global Services to deliver enterprise FMC trials

    -

OnRelay, a provider of cellular Fixed Mobile Convergence (FMC) software, has announced it has entered into a customer trial agreement with BT Global Services.

The agreement will allow BT Global Services to begin on-site trials of OnRelay's MBX software with a number of UK-based and multinational customers as part of BT's Unified Communications offering.  OnRelay MBX allows companies to replace some, or all, of their IP desk phones with mobile phones, by delivering all the functionality of the customer's existing communication system (PBX) to a cellular mobile phone.  The software's architecture works over any public mobile network, providing customers with a feature-rich managed FMC service, whichever mobile network they use, wherever they are in the world.  Upon completion of these trials, it is expected that the OnRelay solution will join the successful BT Corporate Fusion portfolio.

"The customer trials of OnRelay's cellular FMC solution reflect BT's ongoing commitment to addressing the demand for global fixed mobile convergence technologies, recognising that one size doesn't fit all" comments Malcolm Pilcher, Head of Voice CPE & FMC, BT Global Services.  "We see this demand accelerating as our customers look to maximise their existing infrastructure, improve employee productivity and continue their drive to manage and control costs."

"With this joint announcement, OnRelay and BT Global Services open new customer opportunities for cellular FMC," said OnRelay CEO, Ivar Plahte. "BT's evaluation further validates OnRelay's focus on enabling enterprises to cost-effectively extend Unified Communications to mobile phones.  2009 will be the year of cellular FMC."
