    Syniverse launches roaming hub portfolio

    -

Syniverse Technologies, a provider of technology and business solutions for the global telecommunications industry, today announced the launch of Syniverse MORE, a portfolio of roaming hub solutions said to be designed to meet the roaming needs of all types of operators.

As the next evolution of Syniverse's global roaming capabilities, the offerings that comprise MORE can be tailored to meet the varying needs of all sizes of mobile operators as well as the requirements of new entrants to the mobile space, including cable, Internet, VoIP and applications service providers.

"Syniverse has been a neutral, trusted provider solving business and technical interoperability issues for more than 20 years, so I think it's fair to say that roaming expertise is in our DNA," said Tony Holcombe, President and CEO, Syniverse. "The combination of our experience and industry leadership means we are able to offer a broad set of future-proof roaming hub solutions that provide unmatched flexibility for operators as they work to keep up with ever-changing global roaming requirements."

The company plays an integral role in key industry working groups, including the GSM Association (GSMA), and has been responsible for developing many of the technical specifications required for roaming hubs. As a result, operators can rest assured that Syniverse roaming solutions meet all industry standards.

The company also successfully participated in the GSMA's Open Connectivity (OC) Roaming Hub Trial, and the Syniverse OC Roaming Hub achieved GSMA certification as a fully compliant hub.

"When you unite our long-term industry expertise with a customer base that is more than 650 strong globally and a 98 percent customer renewal rate, Syniverse is the clear choice when it comes to roaming services," Holcombe said.

Lori Gonnu, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Global Roaming Services and Interworking, Syniverse, said that if operators are to take advantage of the multitude of benefits that can be gained via association with a roaming hub, it is essential that the one they choose be fully certified and committed to the open peering principles set forth by the GSMA.

"No standalone hub can be everywhere, so providers like Syniverse who offer true OC-certified hubs are part of a hubbing ecosystem that will provide operators true global reach," she said.
