    Award-winning Luca to lead Vodafone in the Czech Republic

    She is moving to the operator from Microsoft where she was CEO of the Czech business

    Violeta Luca will be the new head of Vodafone in the Czech Republic from January. She has over 20 years’ experience in senior positions in sales, marketing and strategy in various companies.

    Luca will replace the current CEO of Vodafone Czech Republic, Petr Dvořák, who was promoted within the Vodafone Group, taking up the role of CEO Partner Markets in September.

    Luca is moving to Vodafone after seven years with Microsoft, most recently as General Manager of Czech Republic and Slovakia, and before that as GM in Romania. Under her leadership, Microsoft won the Best Employer award several times, both in the Czech Republic and Romania.

    She has managed transformation projects in retail, banking, e-commerce, healthcare and telecoms. Luca has long been dedicated to developing digital skills and innovation, and supporting start-ups, while mentoring and empowering women in professional and managerial careers.

    Luca won Forbes’ TOP CEO and best foreign manager then TOP CEO in 2023. She was also named as among the 20 most influential women in Czech Fintech, among many other accolades. She served as a board member in the American Chamber of Commerce in Romania, Slovakia and the Czech Republic, where she is currently serving her second term.

    Prior to joining Microsoft, Luca held several leadership positions at companies such as Metro Cash & Carry, Dante International, Flanco Retail, Whirlpool and AIG.

    She graduated from the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest, Romania.

I want to provide the best customer service and at the same time, together with partners, achieve sustainable growth.”
