Telxius is upgrading its international network with Nokia’s 800G optical technology, in a bid to support cloud, AI and data centre growth.
As a result, the company is deploying Nokia’s ICE-X 800G ZR and ZR+ coherent pluggable optics across its terrestrial networks in Europe, the United States and Latin America.
The technology will allow Telxius to add more capacity to its existing network without taking up as much space or using as much power.
Meanwhile, it is also expected to reduce the cost and complexity of future network upgrades, the company revealed.
According to Telxius, the upgrade will help scale its network more efficiently while maintaining reliable connectivity for customers.
